Function Statewide Board

Description Board exercises general supervision over the elementary and secondary schools of the state., adopts standards of accreditation, establishes the accreditation of each school, effects a system of teacher certification, considers the suspension of teacher certificates and appeals, administers the distribution of state equalization aid, adopts policies for special education and gifted and talented and acts as the governing agency for the Montana School for the Deaf and Blind.
